One Year Celebration and BIG Giveaway!

I cannot believe it, but next month will be my one year anniversary since I started this little blog of mine.  Sharing my little pieces of my Small Town living has been a wonderful and fun experience.  I*LOVE*IT*!  I have truly met so many wonderful, talented, caring, loving, sincere people in the entire universe that I am in awe almost every day.  I feel as though I've made so many good friends in this blog land of ours and I am so grateful.  Enough being corny!

So,  to help me celebrate and share some blogging love, I am hosting a giveaway for my anniversary.  The prize package will be a surprise.  (Mainly because, I have not totally decided yet, but I promise it will be a doozie!) and will come from my little piece of small town world.   I may give some hints over the next 2 weeks...  maybe.

I am going to make this very easy.  All you have to do is leave a comment that you want to celebrate and that you follow my blog or are a new follower.  If you spread the word on your blog about my celebration, leave a separate comment for an additional chance to win.  If you post my celebration button on your side bar, that will give you three entries!  That's it.  The actual date of my very first post is May 11th.  Since a lot of us do not blog on the weekend's I will close the giveaway on Wednesday, May the 9th at 10:00 a.m.  I will draw the winning name on May the 9th and will post the WINNER that day.  I will mail the PRIZE package to the winner on May 11th!! or as soon as I have the mailing information.
This giveaway is open to U.S. Residents only due to customs fees, sorry....

So grab my celebration button and get this party started!

WWTK and a Chance to Win $25 Gift Card!

We Want to Know Wednesdays Q&A
Hosted by Mamarazzi and Crazymama
null

This week Mamarazzi and Crazymama is celebrating the ONE YEAR Anniversary of We Want to Know...so link up for YOUR chance to win!!  WWTK participants are asking the questions, so here we go....

Vandy @ http://tttandme.blogspot.com/ wants to know:
{one} What is your quirkiest habit?

I constantly kick my leg/foot when I'm sitting down.  I cannot help it, and I mean I really kick it.  I am sure that a lot of people have wanted to grab my leg and grit their teeth.  I just can't be still.  Sometimes I think about Diana Keaton in Baby Boom when in the conference room and the guy says, "what is that banging"?  That would be me...

D @ http://beneaththesurfaceanewbeginning.blogspot.com/ wants to know:
{two}What TV show do you always stop to watch?

Nothing!  I do not like or love anything on TV anymore.  Don't watch it very much except Food Network.  I am currently stalking Ree Drummond @ The Pioneer Woman and Trisha Yearwood's new cooking show, but I do not stop my life to watch them.

Vanessa @ http://www.jfamforlife.com wants to know:
{three} What do you miss most about being a kid?

My mother.  I miss having her to run to with problems.  I miss her cooking.  I miss her smile and laughter.

Jolene @ http://richjmylife.blogspot.com wants to know:
{four} How many siblings do you have?

I have one brother.  He is just slightly older than me.  We have always and still are very close.  We talk weekly on the phone, sometimes more.  We double dated, attended dances together, he taught me to drive, he threw me off the back of his dirt bike, not on purpose, but there I was on my knees in the dirt.  Everyone thought we were twins.  We take trips together, he is my date on ocassion when I need one.  He is my best friend and my only immediate family member living.

Kenzie @ http://cbmommyhood.blogspot.com wants to know:
{five} How do you get yourself out of a funk?

Call my brother, he usually points out how silly I am being and almost always makes me laugh.  I don't get in a funk very often, but when I do, I remind myself that it does not take long to look down my nose and see someone who has much larger problems than me.

If you have not done so before, go over and visit WWTK and find out more about some of your bloggy friends and join in for a chance to win $25 for a visit to Target!!

Love and hugs, have a fabulous day.

Gearing up for The Kentucky Derby!

As you all know, I live the in the heart of  Kentucky where the Kentucky Oaks and Derby Horse Racing event is held! It is a HUGE deal!!  Our small town is getting geared up for The Kentucky Derby that will take place two weeks from tomorrow.  I decorate hats for the occasion and our Chamber of Commerce held an annual Spring Fashion Show yesterday to show off some Derby attire.  We go all out here in Kentucky, so you really MUST look your BEST... and wear a BIG hat...

These were our three beautiful models wearing dresses from our boutique and sporting some of my one of a kind Derby hats!!  It was such a fun day and everyone looked so pretty!  I apologize for the bad lighting photos, the country club has glass windows all the way around and it was very glaring.

Does anyone get into the Kentucky Oaks or Derby??  Do you get dressed up?  Do you wear a BIG hat??

Have a fabulous week.... hugs, Ginger

This job thing!!

I have not had much blogging time this past week.  Although, I've tried to check in on some of you, I am behind.  That's what "a job" does for you, less fun time.  :( *sad face*.

I did want to share a couple of pictures I took on the side of the road yesterday... I always make time for taking pictures!

Hope you all have a fabulous week!
Hugs,  Ginger

Favorite Photo Monday! Come Join us!

Since Spring is my most favorite time of the year because everything is being reborn, budding, blooming and coming to life, I decided this was my favorite photo that I took last week.  The trees are filling in, the grass is poisonous green, dogwoods blooming, beautiful sky and fields being prepared to planting!  Heaven...

Have a fabulous day,

Easter Bonnets!

How long has it been since you've had a Easter bonnet??  I don't know about you, but when I was a child our Easter frock was the cat's meow!  I had my new frilly dress with ruffled underwear, lace on my socks, patten leather shoes, gloves and a Easter bonnet!!  Easter was my favorite time because I got a new frock, head to toe!  Did you know that the reason everyone got a new Easter outfit was because of "luck".  It is suppose to be "good luck" to wear a new outfit on Easter!

I don't dress up very much for Easter any longer, things are so much more casual today, it's really sad and I do miss it, but I thought I'd share a few bonnets with you that I decorate for Easter and the Kentucky Derby which is just around the corner!!

Do you get a new outfit for Easter?  Do you wear a Easter bonnet?  Are you going to the Kentucky Oaks or Derby?

Happy Easter to all!!  Have a blessed weekend.

HERE COMES PETER COTTON TAIL!

As you all know, I don't really do a lot of "holiday" decorating.  My style is more "seasonal".  I tend to go more for Spring/Summer, Fall, and Winter/Christmas combo.  This year because the weather is so ahead of itself, I could not resist to do a little something extra for Easter.

Welcome to my front door...
Please come in...
I took my square flower vase and filled the bottom with jelly beans.  Then I took a package of yellow peeps and lined them all the way around the sides of the vase.  I took a skinny water glass to use as my flower vessel and created the cutest little Easter centerpiece!  (I first saw this cutie on Pinterst several weeks ago and just had to give it a go).  It's easy except for the peeps don't always cooperate!

The entry foyer....  My cookie cutter Peter Cottontail and my bunny ear hat...
and my lazy bunny...

My back door is now bright and cheery...

I think I have found some perfect spots to hide the Easter eggs!!

My little love bunnies are all cozy on the patio!

Now, all that's left is plan Easter Dinner!!  hmmmmmmmmmmm....
Have a wonderful week and I hope you will enjoy getting ready for Easter as much as I have.

Love and hugs!,
Ginger
I am hopping to the Bunny Blog Hop!!  Come join me!
