Check In From Mountain Woman!

I am currently in civilization, (Bardstown), where I have Internet for the day anyway.  It is storming really bad today, so I am not busy at work and have a few minutes to say hello and check in on a few of you to see what's going on.  I am still homeless!! (no new listings!) and may try to find something to rent.  I really did not want to move twice, but with the storage and no winter clothes or shoes, it's starting to look appealing.  It so happens that I packed all my shoes in one huge box so I could get to them when I needed to, but guess what?  The movers took the box when I was not looking and now I have no idea where it ended up and trust me, there is no way I can locate it.  I've tried several times with no luck!  I have 3 pair of flip flops, a pair of tennis shoes and 3 pair of cowboy boots, that's it.  I have held off shopping since I have plenty of shoes, but I guess if you can't find them I will have to give in and shop.

I hope everyone is doing well and I know all the fall decorating is going on and I will check it all out when I can.  I will share some fall recipes when I can.  I've just made a fresh apple cake.  A few weeks ago I made a French Apple Tart and I have also been baking pumpkins for pumpkin pies.  If I don't find a home soon, I'm going to weigh 500 pounds!  :D

Have a happy week.

  1. Hope things start improving for you. Don't blame you not wanting to move twice, plus renting usually has you do a one year lease. Surely those shoes are somewhere around. :)

  4. I hope things settle down for you soon! It's no fun to live "between" here and there!

  6. Ok now I see what you are doing. Maybe renting will make you feel less rushed and hey as far as the shoes, buy a couple new pair and live in those till you find your poor shoes. I am sure this is rough not knowing what or where you will land. Hang in there.

  9. I've been thinking about you, Ginger and wondering how you are doing. It's good to hear from you. You definitely may have to ditch the flip flops before the first snow flies. :)

  10. Ginger,
I know how things can be unsettling for you right now. I do hope that you find a place to call your own. Nel got married last weekend! It was such a nice day for all of us. Have a happy Fall week. I love apple tarts too.
