The New Love of My Life

When I cook, I always use kosher salt.  The problem with using kosher salt is that it comes in this huge box with a pour spout.  Not very user friendly.   Kosher salt does not work in a salt shaker as we all know.  So how do we store our kosher salt so that it's accessible and user friendly?  Well, I found the perfect solution, for me anyway.

My new salt box!  I absolutely love it.  It is great quality.  It has two deep large compartments inside so you can put salt and pepper or two different types of salt if you desire.  The lid swivels back, but it stays attached.  The wood is beautiful.  I already had this wooden teaspoon that matches perfectly.  I love wooden earthy things so I'm in hog heaven.  Now when I get ready to prepare a meal, I just grab my salt box and open her up and get to cooking.

I found my new love at  Yep, Paula Deen's on-line store.  I don't normally buy "Chef" inspired products because they are usually very pricey, but this was only $16 and with shipping it still only cost me around $20.  I'm a happy camper.

I am heading over to to link to their Sunday party!

  1. Hey, Ginger! I am getting caught-up on your blog. You have been busy!!! :D I have never ordered anything from Paula Deen's store. I cook with The Fresh Market's Pink Sea Salt.

Your salt box is pretty and practical. I love it!

I just helped load Shanley's car for Tuscaloosa *sadface* I miss her already!!!

  2. What a great idea! I love to use sea salt or Kosher salt, too so this would be great! I'm off to follow the link! ♥

  3. Since you turned me on to Kosher Salt years ago..I need to follow up by getting one of these! Too Cool! Angie

  4. Tis is a great idea - thank you for sharing it! I use Kosher salt all the time as well.

  5. OH, think I may need one of those salt boxes! We love using different salts. Lately our favorite on ripe tomatoes is the pink Himalayan salt!

  6. I love this! Thank you so much for sharing. I love to use Kosher and coarse salt and you're right...nothing to store them in. I really never check the chef store websites so glad you did!

  7. This is very cool. I'm surprised at how reasonable the price is. Paula Deen's stuff is usually pretty pricey. She uses darling measuring spoons that I googled once. They were so expensive I couldn't even think about getting them. Have a great week!

  8. What an awesome idea! Love your new love!
    Have a great day!

  9. I love that it's made out of wood! Neat!

Talk to me, I promise I will talk back.
