Forcing Fall Weekend

I know it's a little early, but I am trying to force a little fall feel.  Went to the country place this weekend.  Still have to mow!! In order to make myself feel better, I created a couple of fall things for the lodge.  This is a very rustic place that we go to get away from Small Town USA and go to an even Smaller Town USA!
I took some rusty barbwire to use as the base of my fall wreath.  With my hot glue gun and a little floral wire I created this rustic wreath for the lodge.  I think it's very fitting and it looks right at home there.  I bought this cowboy boot vase at Hobby Lobby.  I filled it with beautiful sunflowers a couple of artichokes and wa la!  I made my bow from a ribbon that looks like burlap with a smaller ribbon with cowboy boots and hats on it.  I call it my yee-haw design!

What are you doing to force your feel like fall?

I am linking up at:  http://acreativeprincess.blogspot.com/2011/09/its-party-18.html.  Come on, party with me.

  5. Hi Ginger, I'm loving that wreath! Isn't Bardstown sort of near Hopkinsville? I'm sure that I have been there and yes, it is small and quaint. Hope you come visit and follow me. Thanks!

  8. I think you could patent that phrase, 'yee-haw design'....love it! Your fall touches look great and I really like the turquoise colored wall/door that the wreath is hanging on.

  12. I really like the use of the barbed wire in your wreath and you yee-haw decorating style! Come on Fall! It's 103 today and "they" say we are going to have a cool front which mean maybe it will plunge to 99.

Thank you for linking to Potpourri Friday and helping to make it a success! I appreciate you and hope you will link up again next week!
