This will be my last post this week :[ sad face, sigh, but it's actually a good thing. I am heading south to my home town, Knoxville, Tennessee! I am so excited I can't stand it. Will today ever end? Well, I'm sure it will and I will be sorry it's gone. As we get older, we finally realize that we want and need every moment of every day. I never get everything done that I planned or wanted to do and as we all know, there may not always be tomorrow. Okay, now enough of that. Back to my excitement.
My one and only nephew, Jessye is graduating from High School Friday night! I really cannot believe he is eighteen years old and getting ready to start college in the fall. Speaking of my how time flies! He is such a sweet young man and I am so proud of him. His father is my one and only sibling and he is very much like his father. I have not seen them since the first of December last year, so that is another reason I am so excited.
I am going down a few days early so I can visit with all of my family a little more leisurely and not be so rushed. My mother had eleven siblings! Two brothers nine sisters! YIKES.... There are still seven sisters and one brother that are still alive and well. I plan to have dinner with all of my Aunts this evening as they get together the third Wednesday of every month and it just happened that tonight is the night. So that makes me so excited.
As you can only imagine, I have a TON of cousins, first, second and third. I am hoping to see as many of them as possible in my short visit, so that also makes me very excited . I am sure there will be shopping involved with a couple of my aunts that I consider shopaholics!, don't tell them I said that! But, none the less, that gets me all excited too.
I am also very excited to visit with my best friend in the whole entire world! Angie and I have been friends, let's see now, she's been married for almost 31 years and I was in her wedding, okay, so a long time. Angie is one of those friends that you wish was really your sister and you actually feel like she is. The kind of friend that you tell everything and anything. The kind of friend that you've laughed with, cried with, been mad at, but not for long, shared the good, the bad and the ugly with. Been through life, deaths, births, illness, divorces, you name it. That's my Angie. I am so excited to see her this weekend that I can't stand it.
Well, since I have no pictures to share regarding any of the things I am talking about on this trip, I am including a few photos of my Jessye from his Senior Prom last week and I promise I will share pictures from my trip next week.
I hope everyone has a great week, and a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend. I will be back on schedule next week, and I will be so excited about everything that happens on my trip home!
Until we meet again, enjoy life.
